Configure Multi-SID Environment for GLSU Platform
Multi-SID lets you use your GLSU platform license across multiple SAP environments—such as Production, Quality, Development, and Sandbox—by provisioning each SAP System ID in the platform.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following:
- GLSU platform is installed on-site, and you are using version 25.3 or higher.
- The SAP System IDs you want to configure. Contact your SAP instance management team to get these details.
SAP System IDs - Provide the IDs and specify which ones are for production and which are for sandbox/test. For example:
- EQ1 – Production
- ED1 – Sandbox
Important: Only provide the System ID (for example, EQ1 or ED1). Ensure the IDs match exactly as configured in your SAP landscape. Don’t add descriptions like EQ1-Quality, spaces or special characters like EQ1 Quality, or environment types in names like EQ1_Prod.
Once you have all the required information, connect with your insightsoftware contact and share the details. They will complete the configuration for you.
Verify Environment
After the configuration is complete, confirm that each environment is correctly designated as production or non-production.
To confirm,
- Log in to the platform using the email address associated with your platform user ID.
- Verify that each SAP System ID appears correctly on your user screen:
- Check that environment names match the System IDs exactly with the correct designation.
- Confirm all requested System IDs are listed (for example, EQ1, ED1).
- Ensure no extra text or descriptions are added.
Assign Licenses
Once the environment setup is ready, assign licenses to users based on the availability to production and non-production systems:
- Assign Premium User license to admin users.
- Assign Standard User license to power users.
To verify license assignments in SAP:
- Use transaction ZGLSU.
- Go to Premium user functions.
- To delete license assignments, use the standard deletion process in ZGLSU as an admin or premium user.
